Membership: Three to five members or attenders interested in the financial management of the Meeting. The Meeting Treasurer and Assistant Treasurer are ex officio members of the Finance Committee. Term: One year, but members may serve unlimited successive terms upon nomination and appointment. Meetings: Generally monthly five to ten days before Meeting for Business or upon call of the clerk. General Responsibilities: To provide direction in the financial affairs of the Meeting and to make financial policy recommendations to the Meeting. Specific Responsibilities: 1. To present to the Meeting for discussion, in the eleventh month before of the fiscal year a proposed Annual Operating Budget for the next fiscal year. A final proposal will be presented for approval at the next Meeting for Business. 2. To propose to the Meeting ways for raising funds for the operating budget and methods of financing the purchase of new or replacement capital items or the costs of major renovations of the meetinghouse and grounds. 3. To review any proposal from persons other than the finance committee for modification of the approved operating budget, as well as any fund raising proposals for special projects of the Meeting and to make fiscally sound recommendations to the Meeting. 4. To oversee and manage the financial assets of the Meeting when so delegated by the Trustees. 5. To negotiate with other users of the facilities their cost sharing contributions. 6. To provide oversight and guidance to the Meeting Treasurer. 7. To report yearly to the Trustees on the financial health of the Meeting. 8. To arrange for an outside review of the meeting’s financial records every five years. 9. As needed, reviews proposed gifts to the meeting and recommends acceptance or non-acceptance.” Finance committee does have a policy on fund-raising, gifts, and expenditures but it doesn’t mention who says yea or nay about acceptance of contributions of goods.)
