Treasurer and Assistant Treasurer PDF Print E-mail
Membership: Must be a member of the Meeting.

Term: One year, but may serve an unlimited number of consecutive terms upon nomination by the Nominating Committee and approval of the Meeting.


General Responsibilities:

The Treasurer carries out day-to-day financial activities of the Meeting and maintains the Meeting’s financial records, delegating certain responsibilities to the Assistant Treasurer with the agreement of the Finance Committee.


Specific Responsibilities:

1. Receives, records, and deposits income checks or monies given or entrusted to the Meeting (except as may be delegated to the Assistant Treasurer).

2. Is authorized to sign checks on the Meeting bank accounts for approved expenditures under the Meeting budget or against established reserves in furtherance of Meeting activities and programs at the request of the Meeting Clerk, its Committee Clerks or others authorized by the Meeting.

3. Under the direction of the Meeting, its Trustees, and its Finance Committee is responsible for safeguarding and maintaining the Meeting’s investments, including adding and withdrawing funds from these investments.

4. Monitors Meeting income, expenditures, and other financial activities to ensure that they are consistent with maintaining the tax-exempt status of the Meeting and provides receipts to those making contributions to the Meeting in accordance with existing tax laws.

5. In conjunction with the Finance Committee, develops written guidelines related to the Meeting’s financial activities and responds to requests from the Meeting Clerk, Committee Clerks, and others for ad hoc advice in these matters.

6. Keeps the full financial records of the Meeting.

7. Prepares and presents periodic reports on the financial condition of the Meeting at the request of the Meeting, its Clerk, or its Finance Committee and provides interim information on expenditures to date and available balances under specific budget lines and reserves to individual Committee Clerks at their request.

8. Submits to the Finance Committee for its consideration, in connection with the annual budget-making process, an annual forecast of expected income and a draft budget.

9. Prepares and presents annually a full report of the financial condition of the Meeting and all funds in its care.

10. Serves as a member of the Finance Committee on an ex officio basis.





Assistant Treasurer

General Responsibilities:

In the event of an extended absence of the Treasurer, the Assistant Treasurer assumes all responsibilities of the Treasurer unless the Meeting approves other arrangements.


Specific Responsibilities:

1. Receives, records, and deposits checks and monies contributions to the Meeting.

2. Is authorized to sign checks in the absence of the Treasurer and under the same
conditions.

3. With approval of the Finance Committee may be delegated other responsibilities of the Treasurer.

4. Serves as a member of the Finance Committee on an ex officio basis.
