If the stock has appreciated in value from when it was purchased, those who donate such stock get full credit for the value of the stock at the time of the gift as a charitable donation on their federal and state tax returns.  They also avoid having to pay any capital gains tax on the appreciated value this stock. 

To make such a gift, simply instruct your broker in writing to transfer the stock or stocks in question to the brokerage account with Citizens Investment Services that the Meeting maintains for just this purpose.  Your broker will need the following information about our account,
