Our web calendar lists Scarsdale Friends events, other Quaker Events
and Events of interest to Quakers. Registered members of our website
can add new events. while visitors can suggest events.
To add an event;
- In the box on the left that says "calendars" select the
specific calendar you want to add
the event to.
- Go to
the date you want and click on the [+] for the date. For the day view,
click on the time you want the event to start.
- Fill in the title of the event, notes on the event, the start time and contact information as appropriate.
- If the event repeats on a regular schedule, go to the repeating
tab and use either simple or advanced to set up the pattern of
repeating.
- Click on Save (at the bottom)
To Suggest an event use the "Event Request" link at the bottom of the
calendar.
Changing your view of the calendar
The basic calendar
that users see includes three separate calendars: "Scarsdale Friends
Events," "Other Quaker Events" and "Events of Interest to Quakers." You
can change your view of the
calendar so that you only see the types of events you are interested in
(either adding other categories or getting rid of ones you don't want).
Click on
Options at the bottom to select what you want to see and how you want
to see it.
You
can also you can sign up to get an email reminder of an event or
category of events. For a category of events go into Options and
Notifications. For a particular event click on the event itself.
You can even
have the calendar go to your other pages such as My Yahoo or using an
RSS feed and you can download events or groups of events to your Palm
Pilot, Outlook or other computer based calendar. To do this, once
you have the calendar you want, click on details and you will be able
to get the URL for the feed. You will need to enter your user name and
password again (or you can just click right and copy the link).
